Planet of the Crepes is a Saint Louis, Missouri based food truck that specializes in crepes and other quick breakfast items. For this design I wanted to keep it fun and lighthearted. I knew I wanted to depict an actual crepe of some kind. I found that the shape of a crepe when inserted into the carrying sleeve allowed for the illustration of a monkey, connecting to the Planet of the Crepes name. Pushing the design further, I knew that I need to push the separation of the monkey face and forehead, in order to emphasize the crepe aspect more. I chose to depict and cream and banana filling, providing a comical association with the stereotypical snack of the monkey.
