Ping Pong is an instant messaging service akin to companies such as Slack or Facebook Messenger. Ping Pong was selected as the name for this company as it would for an onomatopoeia for the sound that the app would make when messages are being sent. Choosing a rounded font works in connection with the icon, as it is primarily round. When looking to the icon, I wanted to blend a ping pong paddle with an instant messaging bubble. The resulting shape is one that could be used in multiple aspects of the service: as a graphic for a member of the conversation typing, as an app icon, and as a link to find new conversations when within the app.
