Sunnies is an Australian based sunglasses and accessories company. The term “sunnies” is actually an Australian slang for sunglasses. When it comes to the shape of the logo, I wanted to include an iconic symbol of Australia, the kangaroo. From there it was just a matter of how to implement the sun. I knew that I wanted to have a compact logo that could be placed on the frame of sunglasses. With this in mind, I decided to wrap each letter of the company name around a sun shape. The effect that this ended up having was to allow the letters to tame on the appearance of rays of sun. The colors were chosen in order to keep the brand feeling warm, but inviting.
