Pink is a trusting color, so I knew that if I was going to make an airliner logo, this would be the color that I would use. I wanted to use a compass rose as the main iconography of this logo since it is what I think of when I hear of “pioneer”. The rose wouldn’t stand out on its own, so I thought I would take advantage of the global air travel nature of airplanes and place the compass on a grid of the globe. For the font, I wanted to have something that maintained a modern look, yet provided a callback to pioneer times. This logo would be utilized, in large part, on the tail fin of one of the company planes. Because of this, the shape had to be bold and unique from other airliners.
